Job Description
The Coordinator of Corporate & Foundation Relations, which reports to the Vice President of Development, is responsible for the identification, solicitation (grant writing) and stewardship of foundation, corporate, and government funders. The Coordinator is responsible for driving timelines for prospect research, proposals and reports for institutional donors. The Coordinator interacts with the Board of Directors, foundation staff and trustees, and senior management in person, by phone, and via email to prepare and schedule meetings, and build connections among key influencers and decision-makers who can commit resources to Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.
This position requires a BA/BS and excellent writing skills. Grant writing experience is preferred; candidates must demonstrate strong relationship building skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acquire knowledge and understanding of Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, and use that knowledge to develop compelling proposals for all projects and programs
  • Create and submit all Corporate, Foundation, and Government proposals/grants
  • Research and rate new corporate and foundation donors
  • Schedule and coordinate corporate and foundation meetings for the CEO, Vice President of Development and appropriate program staff
  • Collaborate with the VP of Development to engage the Board of Directors in relationship development with foundation trustees and staff
  • Leverage relationships and connect with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application in order to supply any additional support to the proposal
  • Maintain grant calendar and category projections
  • Assist the Development Department with events, direct mail, agency communications, and donor prospect research as requested
